This nearly 2-hour rock opera brings one of the years strongest prog albums, and should not be missed.
Numen’s 2024 album The Outsider is a two-disc concept album structured as a rock opera. It consists of 16 tracks with a total runtime of approximately 1 hour, 42 minutes.
The album tells a continuous story centered around a character named Paul, who experiences disillusionment with materialism and undergoes a psychological and existential journey. The narrative is presented chronologically through the tracklist and is supported by a downloadable plot summary (.pdf) made available by the band.

“The Outsider,” a nearly 2-hour rock opera by Spanish neo-prog band Numen, stands as one of the year’s strongest progressive rock albums.
Musically, the album features a range of progressive rock elements including extended song structures, instrumental passages, and thematic reprises.
Numen cites this as their first rock opera. The album is available in digital formats and has been released through their official Bandcamp page and website. All songs are performed in English.
