This is a very cool album—but be prepared for a good dose of space rock and atmospheric passages between the big moments. Don’t let that scare you off, though. If you’re a fan of early Pink Floyd or Steven Wilson’s more recent work, there’s a lot here to enjoy. The vocalist, to my ears, has a tone reminiscent of Art Garfunkel—a very good thing—which adds a unique warmth to the music. At nearly 90 minutes, it’s a long listen, but even if the ambient sections aren’t your thing, you could easily trim them out and still be left with a full album’s worth of strong material. Had it been edited down to an hour, it would’ve been a 4.5-star release. As it stands, I’m giving it a solid 4—definitely worth checking out. Although this album wasn’t given a full review, it has been carefully listened to and evaluated by Prog Radio and given a Star rating. You can enjoy tracks from this album in rotation at Prog Radio. (The higher the Star rating, the more tracks we will be playing and with more frequency.) Look for songs from this and other new albums to be featured in our "What's New Proggy Cats?" broadcast.
