Spanish prog folk/rock artist Rafael Pacha has long collaborated with Finnish musician and drummer Kimmo Pörsti, both on The Samurai of Prog albums and their respective solo ventures. In 2022, this duo teamed up to debut as Pacha & Pörsti with "Views from The Inner World" – an album already familiar to Prog Radio listeners.
Now, they present the next installment of their project, "Sea of Mirrors." This album offers 10 fresh tracks crafted by Rafael and Kimmo, showcasing guest talents such as Marek Arnold on the sax, Alessandro Di Benedetti on the piano, Olli Jaakkola handling flute, bass flute, oboe, and sax, and Jan-Olof Strandberg on bass.
It's a masterfully crafted prog journey, replete with dynamic shifts and a rich instrumental landscape that keeps listeners engaged.
Though predominantly instrumental, the album is punctuated with the well-placed vocals of Laura Pörsti, Paula Pörsti, and Alejandro Suárez. It's a masterfully crafted prog journey, replete with dynamic shifts and a rich instrumental landscape that keeps listeners engaged.
Just as the calming atmospheric sounds begin to envelope you, they introduce invigorating stretches that ensure your attention never wanes. The album masterfully balances tranquil instrumentals with spirited transitions. There's no filler here – every track adds value, resulting in a cohesive and enjoyable listening experience.
Set for a September 8th release, Prog Radio is already showcasing several tracks in our New Music rotation.
