Many compare Gazpacho’s music to Radiohead, largely because Jan-Henrik Ohme shares a tone and style with Radiohead’s Thom Yorke. But the Fireworker album proves that such a comparison isn’t fair…to Gazpacho. While both can be somewhat dark and brooding, I feel that much of Radiohead’s music is self indulgent, unlistenable, art “noise,” where as Gazpacho’s music on Fireworker is all very listenable, while still remaining squarely prog. Could have enjoyed it being a little longer, but a great album. 4 Stars.
