This is an excellent sophomore release from the Swedish crossover prog duo, and a very confident follow-up to a debut we truly loved here at Prog Radio.
Rather than simply repeating what worked the first time around, the album feels more focused and mature, both musically and thematically. Lyrically, it explores aging, shifting priorities, purpose, and even questions of faith, all handled with a thoughtful, understated approach that suits the music well. Melancholy at times, but always infused with spirit and optimism.
While the album is consistently strong from start to finish, the two bookending tracks — “Young at Heart” and “The Butterfly Effect” — stand out as clear highlights and alone make the album worth spending time with. They frame the record perfectly and leave a lasting impression.
Absolutely one of the best crossover prog albums of the year and not to be missed.
