Another compelling debut album with Age of Distraction, "A Game of Whispers." This new collaboration brings together prominent artists from the UK's progressive music scene, featuring John Cook (formerly of This Winter Machine and This Other Eden), Charlie Bramald (Ghost Of The Machine), Mark Gatland (Hats Off Gentlemen It's Adequate, IT), and Dom Bennison (Last Motion Picture, ex-This Winter Machine). It’s no surprise that such a lineup has created a richly textured and melodic experience that is sure to captivate listeners.

Released on May 31, 2024, the album comes in at 53 minutes, spanning twelve tracks, each exploring themes of toxic relationships and communication breakdowns. Highlights include the singles "Compromised,” with its bone-crunching riffs and melodic lead lines, and "Take Me Down," a brooding piece featuring guest artists Philip Stuckey and Ruby Jones. The title track, "A Game of Whispers," has garnered acclaim by winning the loudersound.com Prog Tracks Of The Week poll.
Bennison’s production shines throughout, providing a pristine sound that enhances the band's blend of heaviness and beauty. The orchestral arrangements on "Oceans" and "My Peace" add a layer of grandeur, making this debut a must-listen.
Tune in to Prog Radio to hear several of the tracks from this excellent record currently playing in our New Music rotation. Look for it to also be featured in Monday’s “What’s New Proggy Cats?” broadcast.
