At the forefront of the progressive rock scene, Neal Morse consistently defies expectations. His dedication to his craft shines through in his latest endeavor, "The Dreamer - Joseph, Pt. 1" – marking it as his 13th solo masterpiece.
Drawing parallels to Andrew Lloyd Webber's iconic "Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dream Coat," Morse's rendition doesn't demand biblical expertise or devout faith to be appreciated. It's a contemporary treatment of the timeless tale of Joseph's riveting journey, from being Jacob's son, betrayed by his brothers and sold into slavery, to earning favor with Pharaoh and rising to prominence in Egypt's hierarchy. But where Webber gave us a Broadway "technicolor dream coat," Morse gifts us with progressive-rock "ultraviolet dreams."
While the ambition was to encapsulate the saga within a single album, the grandeur of the story couldn't be confined. Consequently, "Joseph, Pt. 1" only charts the tale through Joseph's imprisonment in Egypt, promising a tantalizing sequel next year.

Neal's impeccable choice of collaborators guarantees a standout sonic experience. Teaming up with the likes of Eric Gillette (on guitars and vocals), Steve Morse (guitars), and the vocal prowess of Ted Leonard, Matt Smith, and Jake Livgren, the album resonates with musical finesse.
In essence, "The Dreamer - Joseph, Pt. 1" is quintessentially Neal – compelling, intricate, and extraordinary. Dive into this auditory journey and stay tuned to Prog Radio where numerous tracks from the album are already making waves.
