Someone’s been reading Hemingway at the beach. The eleventh studio album from this monumental band, although nearly 6 years from their previous release. A very enjoyable album with all the influences we expect from Pendragon...Genesis, Yes and Pink Floyd, and maybe one we didn’t expect, with the guitar riff at the end of Eternal Light lifted (intentionally or otherwise) from Duran Duran’s Ordinary World. Clocking in at 65 minutes, there’s a lot of great music here, but not as many off-the-charts high moments I was hoping for. Admittedly, I am more a fan of a Greg Lake type voice, where Pendragon’s lead singer, Nick Barrett, leans more towards a Jon Anderson sound, so Yes fans may find themselves really enjoying this album. A solid addition to this year’s music. 4 Yaks.
